Regular readers know that I run the Edinburgh Dinner Party
Club. I’ve done this for a year, and have worked quite hard on organising
events and making this as fun and fruitful as possible for my almost 800
members.
But it is with some regret but definite careful
consideration that I have decided to step down as “leader” of the club. My reasons
are mostly personal, although some are related to the group. To be honest, I
don’t have enough time on my hands at the moment to fully dedicate myself to
it. I also don’t see myself being able to commit in the future. I hope to
remain a member and continue to attend and host dinner parties, but I think
taking a back seat is the right step for me.
What worries me, is that I sent my members a message asking
for a volunteer(s) to take over as leader. Unfortunately nobody has expressed
an interest as yet. My mind is almost certainly made up, and I fear I will have
to delete the group altogether should a volunteer not step forward. How sad
that would be. So if you are reading this, and fancy a foodie challenge, please
get in touch with me.
All that said, I
remember our dinners and other events fondly and mouth-wateringly!
Happy dining!
